This large room would have been the Drawing Room, or day room; as well as fitted cupboards, there is also a fireplace which has a "keeping oven" attached. This indicates that the room was used for dining as well, the food first being prepared in the downstairs kitchen and then  carried upstairs to the secondary oven to await the diners.

This floor was occupied by the owners, and gave direct access to the front door - leading via the hall to the 12 steps down to ground level at the front of the house.  

The room is centrally heated and the windows are double glazed.
